Radisson signs long-term lease at Potsdamer Platz Berlin

Deka Immobilien has signed a long-term lease agreement with the Radisson Hotel Group for the listed building at Schöneberger Straße 2–4 in Berlin. Originally built as a representative office by Siemens founders Werner Siemens and Hans Georg Halske, the historic property will be transformed into the new Radisson RED Berlin Potsdamer Platz by the end of 2026.

Following extensive renovations, the hotel will offer 249 rooms and suites, nearly 950 square meters of meeting space – including the historic Siemens Hall – as well as a restaurant, bar, fitness area, and underground parking. The refurbishment will be carried out with a strong focus on ESG criteria, emphasizing energy efficiency, social functionality, and the integration of listed heritage features into a contemporary usage concept.

Potsdamer Platz has a rich and dynamic history – from being one of Europe’s busiest intersections in the 1920s, to a desolate no man’s land during the Cold War, and later one of the largest urban redevelopment projects in Europe. Today, it is once again a vibrant hub for culture, business, and urban life.

Deka Immobilien has long been active in international hotel markets, investing in high-quality operator properties at established locations. Located near Anhalter Bahnhof and Potsdamer Platz, the project strengthens Deka Immobilien’s hotel portfolio (Insights into our hotel portfolio here) at one of Berlin’s most iconic and historically significant locations – once again combining sustainable investment with the forward-looking use of architecturally valuable real estate.
